Description
Dynamic Recon Ops is a randomized, replayable scenario that generates an enemy occupied AO with a selection of tasks to complete within. Select your AO location, the factions you want to use and any supports available or leave them all randomised and see what mission you are sent on.

Designed to be simple to use but with plenty of options to customise your mission setup, the objective behind DRO is to create a way to quickly get playing a new scenario in singleplayer or co-op. With as few changes to the base game as possible, DRO aims to showcase the unique and varied gameplay that Arma 3 has to offer for smaller scale infantry combat.

Additionally, DRO has been designed from the ground up to take advantage of faction mods. If you have any mods that create new factions they will be selectable as player or enemy sides within the mission. However, the scenario itself requires no mods apart from specific terrains if you want to use them.

Special Note
  • This terrain uses content from the Iron Front Arma 3 All-in-One addon and the terrain and assets are required to run the mission. The addon is not listed as a dependency to accomodate people that use alternate means to have the required terrain and assets.

Features
  • Playable in SP or COOP.
  • Dynamic scripting means that no two missions are the same.
  • Menu on startup to select a variety of options including time of day and insertion type.
  • Revive system that takes visual cues from BIS revive but is fully AI compatible and works in both MP and SP.
  • Virtual Arsenal to select starting loadout for both player and AI units.
  • Compatible with CUP, RHS, and 3CB factions.

Updated Features
  • Up to 16 players or AI with scaling enemy numbers so even large groups are challenged.
  • ACE Arsenal available in the Team Planning area and with certain resupply crates.
  • When ACE Medical AI is enabled, AI teammates will heal themselves, and an AI medic will heal others.
  • Updated player enumeration with CBA for reliability for many internal scripts and functions.
  • Updated compatibility with ACE3 3.13.0 medical re-write (fixed invincibility bug, compatibility with Diwako's Armor Plate System, et c).
  • By default, player voices are set to "No Voice" to prevent call-outs.
  • Hostile Civilians have more "typical" insurgent gear.
  • Added additional location types for AO selection.
  • Extended AO now searches in a larger radius for more locations to add, and up to five additional objectives can be added. Enabling both Extended AO and five objectives can create 10 or more objective, demanding a lot from players, so use with caution.
  • Number of selectable objectives has increased from three to five. If used with Extended AO, this can generate over 10 additional objectives, use with caution.
  • ACE Arsenal interaction for team members so you can customize their gear with ACE Arsenal instead of BIS Virtual Arsenal.
  • Added support for factions created with ALiVE's ORBAT (assuming the faction is properly made per ORBAT's documentation).

WW2 Special Features
  • Added numerous additional locations to the map for a better DRO experience since the map itself only had two viable locations.
  • Compatibility with IFA44 partisans using appropriate equipment (and not like, an AKSU-74 or something in WW2...).
  • While ambient civilian presence is supported, some buildings do not have any interior making a civilian presence spawn point not work or generate an error. I suggest using a building-replacement addon like Interiors for CUP or something to get it working, but this shouldn't affect anything but reduce overall number of civilians wandering around.

Included Fixes
  • Fixed server-side targetting by AI (Lock-On Fix), with thanks to Knobb Manwich at SA.
  • Fixed issue with "Take and Hold" task not completing in some instances.
  • Fixed some factions missing vehicles.
  • Other minor bugfixing.

How to Access ACE Arsenal
  • When in the Team Planning area, press the Escape key to exit the menu.
  • You will have a prompt to Open ACE Arsenal via the Action Menu; press your Use Default Action key to open the ACE Arsenal.
  • Create or load your loadout and Close the ACE Arsenal interface.
  • Use the Action Menu (typically Scroll Wheel) and select the Open Team Planning menu action and click Ready in the corner to continue the mission.

@chazbotic sorry forgot to answer your question, it happens in SP and when my friend and I try my dedicated MP server. Still working on a mods list sorry busy day today.

@chazbotic okay tried a few of the other German army factions, Sturmtroopers and Fallschirmjäger. They both seemed to work, I think the error on my side is with the Wehrmacht faction. Something bugs out with them

the 101st airborne faction appears to have no config issues that i can see. can you please try them instead of US Army? the enemy or civilian factions shouldn't matter for this type of error when starting the mission.

whelp it appears that the "iconcar" error is a config issue in IFA3 AIO for several vehicles where it's pointing to a non-existent texture for the menu icon. this is a benign error and one that is up to the IFA3 author to fix.

tried duplicating on self-hosted MP server, unable to reproduce problem. the "iconcar" error i'm working on to fix, but unfortunately if i'm unable to reliably reproduce the error it will be very difficult to track down the bug :(

question: does this issue also appear when played on a self-hosted server? the IFA3 factions "US Army", "82nd Ranger Regiment", "Red Army", and "Wehrmacht" all seem to work when i test locally and on dedicated with AI.

@chazbotic It does appear to happen across any and all of the DRO and DCO scenarios, so it's definitely a faction based bug.

@chazbotic I've found that the two factions I've had the bug with are the only two I've tried to use. Sometimes the map will load, other times it will break as I described. US Army & Wehrmacht. I can put together a proper mod list tommorow. Mainly all the CUP mods, along with RHSUSAF and TFC.
And all compatibility packs. But that's about it.

Super glad to hear that you have plans to port more of the IFA maps over, I know for sure ones like El Alamein & Berlin will bring back memories from playing BF1942.

thanks for checking. the one thing that i know has a high chance of breaking is if equipment is not held in the config for the units or factions, but if it is applied via script after spawning. because DRO uses a slightly non-standard method to "move" the players to the insertion position area, if the script is unable to create units or switchPlayer to those units, it will break.

im havin a blast with it. ill see if i can replicate that issue but for me its been pain free.
