Both the Space Gun and the Ray Gun Mark 1 are perceived as automatic. The Mark 1 in the console of WAW is set to the firemode "Auto" permanently proving that it seems to be intended as an Autofire Pistol. The Space Gun is also Automatic.

The space gun and the Ray Gun share more similarities, the space gun and mark 1 both are pistols while the Mark 2 is more of an SMG body type. The Mark 1 and Space Gun also fire 1 bullet per press while the Ray Gun Mark 2 is a burst fire SMG.
