Astra 6x Cargo Module

Description
CV, Core2, Unlock Level 12, Class 1

6x320k cargo module for Astra module carriers. Reforged Galaxy/Eden 1.7.

Works only in Reforged Galaxy and Reforged Eden. This ship uses equipment only available in Reforged-based scenarios.

This is a dedicated cargo module for FilbertFarmer's Astra line of carriers. Features 6x 320k container controllers plus an assortment of smaller boxes (some cargo boxes are accessible through logistics only). The outer hull is identical to FilbertFarmer's Astra Production Module.

Has enough solar power to idle when the thrusters are off so it won't burn any fuel if you leave the lights on.

The 4 inner small lift thrusters can be replaced with medium thrusters if you plan to use this to bring cargo off planet. Just be careful because it has no defensive capabilities.

Yeah, Garaman is listed as a co-author. :D These modules are intriguing. I'm thinking of an Astra siege module, myself, though I've not made any Astra modules, yet. The idea is, because of the thruster configuration normally favoring front and back movement, and the cockpit normally being vulnerable, I'd add another cockpit, facing in another direction, using the normally front-back thrusters for strafing instead. I've seen JRandall do this with another build, so that his craft can be piloted with two front faces. Which face I want is a puzzle, but I like the idea of the module undocking then moving straight down as its new forward configuration, with heavy armor on the underside, and peppered with numerous heavy weapons like Reforged's dumbfire rockets. I wonder if any ideas for weaponizing the Astra system have surfaced, yet.

@Garaman ah true I didn't know they made your ship invulnerable, must be odd reason why storage containers don't, I don't mind going down a scroll menu to use crates, but ~ 26t isnt much when you get easy storage access. loss of armour is the main thing but cargo ships shouldnt be getting a beating. yeah I think Ill just stick with modules haha, and it can mess with builds sometimes.

Module systems aren't the most efficient use of resources or space. But as filbertfarmer said they have their advantages: invulnerability while docked, independent solar capability within block limits, and most of all flexibility to outfit your carrier as your playstyle suits you.

Weight and power consumption don't matter when all you are doing is docking it to a carrier and turning it off. Docked CVs are 'invisible' also so no worry from attacks either ;)

Nice and simple, for all those container extensions and controllers, it adds 300w of power, nearly double the weight, loss of protection and a bit of a loss of cpu, but hey people are lazy haha

Thanks Fil! Looking forward to flying your carriers this playthrough!
