In my opinion, if you use a chromium browser, I recommend installing Firefox and signing in to YouTube just to be able to use the --cookies-from-browser option. The cookies will periodically become invalid if you are browsing YouTube on the browser you pulled the cookies from.

Unfortunately, there's no way to download age restricted videos on YouTube anonymously anymore. You can go to Options > Downloads and adjust the yt-dlp command line arguments to authenticate your requests. If you use Firefox as your browser, you can add two entries --cookies-from-browser and firefox and it will authenticate using your cookies. If not, you can pass cookies manually by adding the entries --cookies and a second entry that's a path to a netscape cookies file to authenticate (do not surround the path with quotes, the game does that itself and adding them will break it). There's a browser extension for chromium browsers which can help export cookies in the netscape format, just navigate to YouTube and click on the extension to export it: https://github.com/kairi003/Get-cookies.txt-Locally
