Side thrusters are obstructed, that is however easy fixable if you are on one of those rare servers that enforce it.

The Badger is a small mining-SV sporting 8 drills to shave some riches from your local and not so local asteroids. This is the SV that can earn you your first CV.

Note this does not have enough lift thrust to carry a full cargo load of ore on a starter planet! If you return from space overloaded be sure to approach your planet base from above, so you still reach it.

Upgrading: You can upgrade this somewhat if you remove the jump drive. Access it by removing the armor locker. Lategame useability is however limited as there is no room for big thrusters and the cargo is rather low to keep it light.
