LIRR Jamaica - AM Rush

This Long Island Railroad map covers New York City's Jamaica Station and the branch to Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn. Jamaica is the 4th busiest station in North America. This simulation is strictly based on the January 2020 Long Island RR timetable with very small changes made to adapt it to Rail Route.

The morning rush is westbound heavy where platforms 1-4 will be utilized the most (5-6 sparingly). Three lines from the east merge at Jamaica: the Main Line (Hollins), Montauk Branch (St Albans) and Atlantic Branch (Laurelton). Most trains stop at Jamaica, but at the peak, there are several that pass through the station. Keep an eye on track number and exit time at Woodside to determine the priority of trains through Jamaica. Luckily, most trains are sorted for their destinations before entering Jamaica, but from time-to-time the schedule causes some conflicts just west of Jamaica. Be careful of which track they exit at Woodside! Atlantic Terminal trains are usually lower priority so route ones to Woodside first.

A handful of trains relay just west of Jamaica on the Montauk Branch. Several trains from Atlantic Terminal also deadhead back east (trains symbols will have a 'x' suffix) instead of becoming a new train.

The Atlantic Branch to Atlantic Terminal is straight forward. Most of the challenge is to remember to keep an eye on Atlantic Terminal (you will be busy elsewhere!)

This one is tough and will take more than one try to achieve 100% score. Good luck and have fun!
