Way to Warsaw 1939

The German invasion of Poland was a military action by Nazi Germany aimed at annexing Polish territory. The technical operation, known as "Case White", began on September 1, 1939 and the last units of the Polish Army surrendered on October 6 of the same year. It was the trigger for World War II in Europe.

When I bought GOH I started the tutorial to see what might have changed with the other games. Leaving that aside at the end of the tutorial they tell you that it's 1939 and the war is about to start and a part of me thought it would be great if the second part of the tutorial was in Poland. But it was not like that, since then I had that idea in my head, so one day I talked with my partner Spanish Warrior about how to carry out the project of a complete campaign about Poland in 1939.

Months later here you have the result:

A campaign, with about 3-4 hours of gameplay based on known battles during the invasion, as well as trying to be historically-accurate in terms of equipment, vehicles etc... as much as GOH has let us.

1-. Battle of Mlawa:

The Battle of Mława, otherwise known as the Defence of the Mława position, took place to the north of the town of Mława in northern Poland between 1 and 3 September 1939. It was one of the opening battles of the Invasion of Poland and World War II in general. It was fought between the forces of the Polish Modlin Army under General Krukowicz-Przedrzymirski and the German 3rd Army under General Georg von Küchler. Polish army managed to hold few rows but the germans had the Luftwaffe attacking the supplies that were coming from the south leaving the poles without equipment enought to still fighting for long. there is where the mission begins.

You and your squad will lead the assault to some of the defensive possitions, will the germans be able to win the row?

2-. Battle of Wizna:

The Battle of Wizna was fought between September 7 and September 10, 1939, between the forces of Poland and Germany during the initial stages of the invasion of Poland, between 350 and 720 Poles defended a fortified line for three days against more than 40,000 Germans. Although defeat was inevitable, the Polish defense stalled the attacking forces for three days and postponed the encirclement of Independent Operational Group Narew fighting nearby. Because the battle consisted of a small force holding a piece of fortified territory against a vastly larger invasion for three days at great cost before being annihilated, Wizna is sometimes referred to as the "Polish Thermopylae".

You'll take the command of lieutenant Krueger on his task to capture the polish bunkers and break the defense.

3-. Bzura's offensive:

The Battle of the Bzura (or the Battle of Kutno) was the largest Polish counter-attack of the German Invasion of Poland, fought between the 9th and 19 September. The battle took place west of Warsaw, near the Bzura River. It began as a Polish counter-offensive, which gained initial success, but the Germans outflanked the Polish forces with a concentrated counter-attack. This weakened Polish forces and the Poznań and Pomorze Armies were destroyed. Western Poland was now under German rule. The battle has been described as "the bloodiest and most bitter battle of the entire Polish campaign". Winston Churchill called the battle an "ever-glorious struggle."

You'll take the command of the german forces defending the bzura river in the early days of the counter-offensive, your task is to hold the line until reinforcements arrive

4-. Siege of Warsaw:

The siege of Warsaw in 1939 was fought between the Polish Army of Warsaw garrisoned and entrenched in Warsaw and the invading German army.

It began with huge aerial bombing raids initiated by the Luftwaffe beginning on September 1, 1939 following the Nazi invasion of Poland. Ground fighting began on September 8, when the first German armored units reached the Wola district and the southwestern suburbs of the city. Despite German radio transmissions claiming to have captured Warsaw, the initial enemy attack was repulsed and Warsaw was besieged soon after. The siege lasted until September 28, when the Polish garrison, commanded by General Walerian Czuma, officially capitulated.

In the mission you will have to go street by street, house by house, ending the fierce Polish resistance until you reach the town hall where are the last polish officers in charge of city defense.
