Character Start - Lost Martial Artist

A character start based around the idea of a lone martial artist inheriting gear from the master of their dojo before they passed. The character starts in an abandoned village in The Great Desert with no cats to their name, only the gear of their dojo and some food. Will you retain the knowledge of your dojo and continue down the path of martial arts? Or will you discard that identity and pick up a weapon?
