Disclaimer:

I made this mission a few months prior to the invasion of Ukraine as a what if scenario. Like with many people in the world we did not expect this to happen. As i spent considerable time making this, i thought i would release it on the workshop.

I condone all wars and of course am very dismayed and upset at what is going on presently. I don't wish for anyone to use this as training material for the real war and it is not intended to be so. Like many scenarios on the workshop and stuff i have published for ARMA they are either fictional or historical and that's the way it should be.

Like with other video games out there e.g. DCS, SQUAD etc. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS AS FOOTAGE PRETENDING IT IS THE REAL WAR.

CDF faction was used for compatibility reasons and also because it should have been fictional as explained above.

Setting:

The two armies are from RHS, using the CDF faction (representing Ukraine) and the RAF (representing the russian armed forces). Chernarus is the backdrop of the combat area and represents a fictional area of ukraine. Flags best represent the different regions and areas.

Scenario:

The Russians have invaded and control the airfield and most of the regions around the Donetsk and Lughansk areas. They are now intending to move in to further control the area.

Play as a commanding officer of the RAF - Colonel Igor Vopotev and prepare your forces to undertake the offensive.

Play as a regular NCO of the CDF (Ukrainian army) - Sergent Nikita Yagudin and gather some troops and move to defend the frontlines.

The civilians have hostilities against the occupiers and are in support of the defenders. They may take up arms, so on both sides ensure that any destruction on property is kept to a minimum.

Guidance:

The mission is dynamic and persistant meaning that battles and units are never the same. It changes everytime the mission is restarted and the frontlines shift as territory is gained.

It is best to play the mission on LAN/Multiplayer so that respawns work and it is a bit more optimised.

Zeus is active for both commanders. It is mainly used for debugging and testing.

Dont forget to pick up a backpack from the crate (its the standard russian RHS one). You will need this if you want to play as high command, command/recruit local troops and requisition supplies to the frontlines.

The mission uses ALIVE, so please make sure you are familiar with how this operates. It is actually a very good mod, if not probably the best feature in ARMA, and i am surprised nobody uses it much.

Other:

I dont intend to make amendments to this as i dont have time to play ARMA anymore! Please do give feedback and i might consider it in a future release/update.

FINAL:

well probably out of date / broken then. Feel free to work on it if u want. Also that 50GB isnt wasted you can play other scenarios on the workshop with the mods lol.

The most useless 50gb I've ever downloaded.
When trying to run a mission, nothing just happens.

download either achilles/zeus enhanced mod from the workshop. Load it, press Y go in zeus module and spawn stuff etc.

I'm not sure if ALIVE was designed to be recruiting at the squad level. It is normally done by the commander at company/platoon/battalion level. By default i believe the mission is set to let the AI take the commander role and do this.

I get this doesnt help much, so i would suggest the easiest way is to use the zeus module (and achilles/zeus enhanced sub-mod). With this you should be able to expand your ability to recruit troops into your unit and move around the map etc.

none of the basic function tutorials talk about recruiting any AI it only talks how to make your own operations and scenarios with ALIVE.

@Moorits - you need to have the alive mod. Once this is working, you should be able to select a main/lead character, you may need to get a backpack in the armoury/arsenal. You can then press i think right windows key or the key next to it that looks like a sheet of paper/table. It wil bring up the alive menu, you can go in there and control troops on the map and play as them etc. I would suggest learning how to use alive basic functions.

If the above doesnt work, there is a zeus function you can access by pressing Y key. You can spawn in whatever you want lol.

can i bring along friends to play in my side or is it intended for maximum of 2 players, one on each side? thank you for this great mission
