Subaru Solterra

ソルテラ（SOLTERRA）は、SUBARU（スバル）によって販売される予定のCセグメントクロスオーバーSUV型二次電池式電気自動車である。
トヨタ自動車から発売されるトヨタ・bZ4Xの姉妹車である。

トヨタ自動車と共同開発された二次電池式電気自動車（バッテリーEV）専用のe-スバルグローバルプラットフォーム（e-SGP、別名e-TNGA）を使用する初のスバル車となる。
2022年までに米国、カナダ、日本、欧州、中国で販売開始予定。

安全・運転支援パッケージはアイサイトではなく、第3世代Toyota Safety Senseを採用する。

姉妹車のトヨタ・bZ4Xとは外装以外にもいくつかの違いが存在する。ソルテラはモーターによるエネルギー回生力を調節するためにステアリングにパドルを備え、
走行モードにはbZ4Xに存在する「エコ」および「ノーマル」に加えて、「パワー」モードが存在する。

また、四輪駆動モデルでは、bZ4Xは「エコ」モード時に完全な前輪駆動となる領域が存在するが、ソルテラは常時四輪に駆動力を伝える設定となっている。
その他、bZ4Xよりもショックアブソーバーの減衰力が高い、bZ4Xよりも電動パワーステアリングのアシスト量が少し大きい、などの違いがある。

車名の由来は"SOL（ソル）" と "TERRA（テラ）"（それぞれラテン語で「太陽」と「地球」もしくは「大地」を意味する）を組み合わせた造語。

The Solterra is a C-segment crossover SUV type secondary battery-powered electric vehicle to be sold by SUBARU.
It is a sister model of Toyota bZ4X released by Toyota Motor Corporation.

It will be the first Subaru vehicle to use the e-Subaru Global Platform (e-SGP, also known as e-TNGA) dedicated to secondary battery-powered electric vehicles (battery EV) jointly developed with Toyota Motor Corporation.
It will be available in the US, Canada, Japan, Europe and China by 2022.

The safety and driving support package will use the 3rd generation Toyota Safety Sense instead of EyeSight.

There are some differences other than the exterior from the sister car Toyota bZ4X. Solterra has a paddle on the steering to adjust the energy regeneration power of the motor.
In addition to the "eco" and "normal" that exist in the bZ4X, there is a "power" mode in the driving mode.

Also, in the four-wheel drive model, the bZ4X has an area where it is completely front-wheel drive in the "eco" mode, but Solterra is set to always transmit the driving force to the four wheels.
In addition, there are differences such as the damping force of the shock absorber is higher than that of the bZ4X, and the assist amount of the electric power steering is slightly larger than that of the bZ4X.

The origin of the car name is a coined word that combines "SOL" and "TERRA" (Latin for "sun" and "earth" or "earth" respectively).
