The mk22 turret is only used on Porter class and Somers class US destroyers. Compared with the later used high-altitude and flat dual-purpose gun, its pitch range is greatly reduced, only - 10 to + 35 degrees. Obviously, this pitch range makes the gun only capable of shooting at the sea; The pitching speed of this gun base is 11.6 degrees per second and the rotation speed is 14.7 degrees per second.
