A prop of the Dante, as she appears in World of Warships.

Time for another battleship and this one took a bunch more effort than it should have had, due to some unexpected complications. Nevertheless, it is done.

THIS IS NOT A DRIVEABLE VEHICLE, AND I WILL NEVER MAKE IT ONE, SO PLEASE, DO NOT BOTHER ASKING.

Fully rigged, use a model tool to tamper with moving parts.

RN Dante Alighieri (1915) (normal, skybox)

Historical Notes:

The first italian dreadnought, named after the famous poet who wrote the Divine Comedy. This ship came a bit late compared to other first-generation dreadnoughts and sported a more modern arrangment of the main battery, all centerline and on triple turrets. She was the only ship in her class and was scrapped in the 1920s, after the Great Depression forced a cut of the naval budget.

Armament consisted of 4x3 305mm/50 M1909 guns, 4x2 120mm/50 M1909 guns, 12x1 120mm/50 M1909 guns and 13x1 76.2mm/50 M1909 guns.

Information on this ship was difficult to obtain in regards to the anti-torpedo boat guns. The WoWs model simply has AA guns in the turret tops, but historically these were equipped with 76.2mm anti-torpedo boat guns. Depending on the source, the values varied between 13 and 16, but judging by historical photos I came to this conclusion:

Dante was equipped with 12 76.2mm Armstrong M1910 guns, 3 on each turret, with a single 76.2mm Armstrong M1912 gun on the rear turret. Later on, a second gun of this model was installed on the front turret and by 1923, 2 more guns had been added, bringing the total to 4 76.2mm M1912 guns.

The WoWs model is meant to be in 1915 condition, so I included a single extra 76.2mm gun on the rear turret, enabled by default with the ability to hide it and another one on the front turret, disabled by default with the ability to show it.
Since WoWs does not have models for either of the 76.2mm Armstrong guns, I replaced them all with Vickers models from the Conte di Cavour class.

Did some improvements to the pivot axles and meshes for the 120mm and 305mm turrets.

It's good when someone even can make it in one day. I am sure that you will remake grad system and make some modern stuff. You can do it when you want. Thanks, i believe in you. :steamthumbsup: :steamthis:

Good job on actually finding models instead of just asking for them, but still, I am not interested in doing modern stuff at this time. Maybe one day, but not now.

Modern staff is cool and if you will do some => people will thank you and maybe someone will donate to you. You can become popular because there is a bit of modern staff and people want it.
