Description
Derwent - A 100% Vanilla Map

This map has been created using the Tree Anarchy mod. Thus, you will require this mod when running this map

Update: 29Th April - Mass Transit DLC is required. This requirement will be removed shortly once a number of other small mistakes have been sorted out in light of the What Map 1499 review.

Derwent is based on the mouth of the River Derwent in Tasmania where Hobart Australia's Southernmost State Capital City is located.

This map contains several small feature areas and has a low tree count of around 168,000 trees. Thus, leaving plenty of trees for detailing. Most of the trees are located within the twenty-five tiles area.

This is a Boreal themed map and uses the Coosbay Theme (which is called Coosbay3) and the Chiaroscuro LUT created by VecchioChristo.

If you feel this makes the map too dark for your taste you can use any theme and LUT combo you prefer.

Map features
  • Average resources available
  • 4 road connections
  • 3 rail connections with the mainline hidden behind a set of hills and a branch line near the start and another on the opposite side of the river to the start square
  • 2 shipping routes - 1 comes up the river and you will only get traffic when you create a port or harbor. The other is located behind the hills and near the main rail line. If you play with 81 tiles you can access it.
  • 2 Plane routes
  • Power lines located at the edge of the start square
  • Water drawing and pumping setup on the edge of the map with pipes located in the start square

There are several water sources located in various spots on the river and the water flows both upstream and downstream and I have been unable to fix that issue.

Optional Mods

The following list of mods is optional and not required to enable you to play this map. They are suggested only and at your own discretion if you wish to use them.

Ultimate Eye Candy and Daylight Classic settings are provided in the screenshots if you wish to use them.

Special thanks to E6GSY for pointing out a couple of mistakes in this listing...

No, it's just the way that mod works, and it is because it saves on several other mods.

And now you can't cut it out?

Because originally when i started this map I was going to have over the standard tree count. However, I changed my mind and left tree anarchy in place as the map was worked on with it enabled.

This looks nice and special, but why Tree Anarchy?
