Another fine addition to your collection - Sub-mod for GAW

Description
This is a skin pack for GAW that I've been working on. I've been overwhelmed with other projects since starting this project and I don't think I'll ever get a chance to finish it but I'll add more when I can.

so what does this mod contain?

. weapon variants that shoot different colours.
. unified ammo for said weapons so they're easy to find.
. custom kit-bashed models and re-textured skins from models already existing from GAW.
. breeds for all of them.
. re-textured equipment like jetpacks, backpacks, helmets and pauldrons fit to various models featured in their breeds.

List of skins

Rebels

. Rebel troopers: multiple species including rebel wookiee warriors and mandalorians, ranks and camo variants.
. Kota militia soldiers: multiple species and ranks.
. Defected/old: clones all legions.
. rebel infiltrators

Republic

. P1 & P2 Clone trooper: ranks for all legions in featured in GAW (unfinished).
. P1 & P2 ARC trooper: variants for ranks and all legions.
. P1 21st nova corps
. Captain Fordo 2003 P1 ARC (just swap helmets with the arc captain if you want to get rid of the Jaig eyes)

Empire

. Saberguards from TFU: includes senate, imperial and shadow variants (need re-rigging)
. Sergeant Kreel

Mandalorians

. clan Vizla
. clan Rook
. clan Elder
. clan Kryze
. Clan ordo

Zann Consortium
. consortium themed Mandalorian mercenaries.

Galaxy

.Felucian shaman and chieftain (just a re-texture of existing model in GAW)
. Naboo Royal troopers: includes ranks

Majority of skins have textmod variants, this includes different faces, alien skin colours, wookiee fur colours, helmet visor glow, Etc. Incase you're not sure how to change these you can by selecting the unit placed in the editor, under properties tab you'll find textmods to which you and scroll to find the texture you like.

Don't forget to leave a rating so others can find the mod easier :).


Optimisation warning: The custom models are from 7k-14k poly so older PC's might not be able too many of those units placed; they worked fine on my old PC which is about 9 years old but the warning is here just in case.

On another note, a majority of the breeds are a subject to change, reason being is I haven't had chance to fully make portraits for all the skins. Just know that if you plan on using these skins for missions after a breed is changed they will appear as skeletons. The way to fix this is by placing the unit again and saving the change.

@Raspy0510 No the game version is to align with the current version of MOWAS2, "0.76" is just the current version of GAW which isn't relevant to this. I've seen mods in the past that just has re-textures or skins without being set up with the necessary files for plug-and-play. If that's the case then you're going to have to make your own mod build and set it up with the necessary files.

say you downloaded just assets, you'll have to transfer them in the correct folders, add breeds and the mod.info file. I recommend looking at the file/folder structure from other skin mods to learn how they're set up. It's surprisingly straight forward, besides that I recommend joining Galaxy at war's discord you can be provided with better support there than the steam workshop comments.

@doherty0182 okay so if the mod is older than the game version (0.76) then it won’t be ableto be put in the game? Also, only one of the handful of addons I’ve tried to download have had the mod.info file, and I can’t seem to find out why that is.

@Raspy0510 I can't really speak for independent creators and what state their mods are in. One thing you could try however is to look at the mod.info file when you first initially open up your chosen mod's folder. You will need notepad or notepad ++. Make sure that the versions are as follows: {MinGameVersion "3.262.0"}
{MaxGameVersion "3.265.0"}

change to the versions to this ^ and save.

since its on moddb sometimes uploaded mods on there don't get maintained for current game versions like those on the steam workshop especially if its a good few year old.

@doherty0182 I am specifically talking about just clone addons done by Atrov and other creators on Modb, such as the addon of all the commanders. Every time I download the file and move it into my mod folder it never seems to show on either my editor tab or being able to activate it like any other mod i download off steam. Sometimes it will show in my breed file, but I can't make them into playable units.
