Description
💭 One thing I always liked about Starbound was the variety of weapons. Boomerangs, whips, blades, firearms, staves and other unique and special options bring incredible potential to the battle system. What happens in practice, however, are firearms as the best options in the game, single weapons being forgotten for inefficiency in battle, and two-handed swords completely dominating melee combat.

With that in mind, I decided to improve some aspects of weapons that didn't have much of a role during our exploration adventures. My main goal here is to make any and all combat styles a viable, fun, and rewarding option for all players. There's still a lot of work to be done, especially on unique weapons, but this seems like a great start to improving Starbound's battle system!

🛠️ Some melee weapon abilities have been adjusted to be more fun options.
🧨 Grenade Launcher proximity mines with extended duration, allowing for ambush strategies.
🪃 Boomerangs and chakrans with slightly increased damage, making these viable battle options*.
🪓 Axes and Hammers with increased damage and knockback, making them viable options along with swords*.
🤜🏻 Improved fist weapons to improve damage and combat efficiency, compensating for exposure on use*.
🥊 Added recipe for crafting Gauntlets, available at max-level Anvil.
🗡️ Daggers with increased attack speed and knockback removed to function as a viable fast attack weapon*.
✒️ Spears with increased damage to compensate for the difficulty in hitting the target with the spearhead*.
🪢 Whips with damage, attack speed, and a few other aspects improved to match other weapons*.
🛡️ Improved shields, with increased durability for larger shields, and more time for perfect defenses on smaller shields*.
🦴 Gristle Gun with increased damage and number of projectile bounces*.
🔫 Significantly increased Ray Gun damage to compensate for projectile path instability*.
⚪ Improved Magnorbs in damage, energy efficiency, and shield defense potential*.
(*By the way I changed the values, only weapons spawned after installing the mod will be affected by the changes.)

It definitely shouldn't break anything like that. Instead of overwrite the files I worked by patching the files, and just changing some values. The aim mods usually does the same, with other areas of the same file being changed, so they definitely should work nicely with the mod. If you find anything weird you can bring here and I fix it =)

Hello Bird! I see no reason why not. It only affects the random weapons and the uniques that are included on the description, so other unique weapons definitely will work nicely. I guess the grenade launcher tweak can affect other weapons if they use the vanilla projectile (because I affected the projectile), but other than that, it's very, very othermods-friendly. Hey Factionator! Nothing added yet, but soon I'll release a Anvil Upgrade version of Dragon Head Pistol, and after that will try to release more upgrades to unique stuff that usually are underpowered! I'm working at a universe mod, with weather, planets, and this kind of stuff, that's why I'm taking so long to release more stuff. Thank you very much for your interest and patience =)
