Halo Unique Units - Warthog

At long last, the iconic Warthog has arrived. This mod adds the famous Warthog, Gausshog, and Rockethog into the game as a trio of new Unique Units for the United Nations Space Command Civilization. Mod will have no effect on your game unless the UNSC is activated.


=====Description=====
The Warthogs are some of the most versatile and mobile units in the entire UNSC's arsenal, with abilities and weapons systems that make them a very formidable foe on the front lines. Extremely effective in mobile warfare, the Warthog and its variants specialize in engaging the enemy as they move and traversing the battlefield with unmatched speed and agility, launching devastating hit-and-run attacks and causing chaos and disarray among enemy forces. In addition, each Warthog variant is equipped with distinct weaponry that provides bonuses against different enemy types, allowing each Warthog to serve as an effective counter to almost any Unit an invading force can send into battle. With such versatility, maneuverability, and raw Combat Strength on the battlefield, the possibilities for the Warthogs in combat are virtually endless.




====Shared Abilities====
All of the Warthog variants owe their unmatched speed and maneuverability to their Promotions, namely the Off-Road Suspension promotion - which provides each of them with the ability to move over Hills as if they were flat and ignore their terrain penalty - and the ability to move after attacking, enabling them to engage in deadly mobile warfare or hit-and-run tactics against enemy forces, charging into battle and striking without mercy before pulling back to UNSC lines. Coupled with a whopping six points of Movement and their base Combat Strength values of 80 - which becomes much higher when their unique weaponry promotions' bonuses are factored in - the Warthogs are some of the most powerful vehicles in the UNSC's arsenal and are easily capable of repositioning on the fly and dispatching any enemy force that dares to face them in battle. Even so, the price for these Units is steep - as all three variants require one Aluminum and two Iron resources to build, which makes construction of these units difficult unless the necessary resources can be secured in large enough quantities to support mass production.

=====Warthog=====
The most iconic of the three variants, the Warthog is designed for fast attack and battlefield scouting and as such is armed with the M-41 Vulcan heavy machine gun, providing it with a 50% Combat Strength bonus against enemy Infantry forces (specifically the Melee, Archer, Recon, Mounted, Scout, and Gunpowder unit combat classes,) and a 20% bonus against enemy aircraft. This weaponry makes the Warthog a very versatile vehicle that is useful for a wide variety of combat applications, from providing anti-infantry or anti-air support for advancing UNSC armies, to fast response and resistance suppression across the UNSC's territories. While the Warthog may not be very well-suited for armored warfare due to its light armament, its speed and versatility more than compensates for this - and makes the Warthog a vital part of any UNSC army.

=====Gausshog=====
Perhaps the most powerful of the three variants, the Gausshog has had the M-41 Vulcan removed in favor of an M-68 Asynchronous Linear-Induction Motor, more commonly referred to as the M-68 Gauss Cannon. Utilizing technology similar to the Magnetic Accelerator Cannon mounted on UNSC starships, the M-68 Gauss Cannon can propel projectiles at velocities of over 13 kilometers per second, resulting in unmatched accuracy, precision, and range that can decimate the armies of enemy Civs and obliterate their cities with relative ease. Effective against almost anything, the M-68 Gauss Cannon provides the Gausshog with a +40% bonus in Combat Strength against every Unit combat class in the game, (with the exception of naval warships and Siege units,) dramatically boosting its power in battle and ensuring the destruction of the UNSC's enemies. In addition, with the maneuverability and versatility of the standard Warthog platform at its disposal, the Gausshog is just as effective in hit-and-run tactics as the standard Warthog - if not more so thanks to the mighty Gauss Cannon. The Gausshog's combination of firepower and maneuverability makes for an incredibly powerful Unit that can face virtually any enemy in the game, and it is because of this that most enemies will think twice before going to war with the United Nations Space Command.

=====Rockethog=====
While the Warthog may not be well-suited for armored warfare, the Rockethog certainly is. Equipped with the M-79 Multiple Launch Rocket System, the Rockethog can launch a devastating volley of missiles at enemy targets both on the ground and in the air, decimating hostile armored formations with ease and keeping the skies clear of enemy aircraft. with a 50% bonus against enemy armor and a 25% bonus against enemy aircraft, the Rockethog excels in armored warfare and can easily utilize its superior agility to outmaneuver enemy tank divisions and defeat them without so much as a scratch. Its missiles are also very effective against enemy aircraft, and while it cannot intercept hostile air forces like the Mobile SAM can, it is still capable of providing anti-air support to advancing UNSC forces and is especially effective at dispatching such airborne threats as the Helicopter Gunship.
