Deval

Description
Welcome to Devils, I mean Deval, junction! Nothing to worry about, I'm sure it'll be fun and easy!

Deval junction lies in the Northwest suburb of Chicago called Des Plaines. It is the meeting of the Union Pacific Milwaukee Subdivision between Proviso Yard and Butler Yard in Milwaukee, the Metra UP-Northwest Line between Olgilvie Transportation Center and Harvard, and finally the Canadian National Waukesha Subdivision running from downtown Chicago to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The Metra Northwest Line is a bustling commuter route and is utilized by a few freight trains coming and going to Proviso Yard using the Milwaukee Subdivision. The CN Waukesha Subdivision sees little use South of Leighton, only seeing ~6 commuter trains and a few freight trains. The majority of freight trains are located on the UP Milwaukee Subdivision. Also included in the map is tower B17, which connects Canadian Pacific's Bensenville Yard with the UP Milwaukee Subdivision. CP has trackage rights inherited from the Soo Line to use the Milwaukee Subdivision from Bryn Mawr to Shermer. At Shermer, the CP trains take a cut-off onto the CP C&M Subdivision. This line is partially included between Glenview and Northbrook to simulate to process of trains getting on and off the Milwaukee Subdivision. Overall, this map has loads of different routes and trains included and is very difficult to figure out. Good luck!

Stats for nerds:

Time: 1 hr and 37 mins
# of trains: 66
Signal Stopping Penalties for commuter trains
(Any) platform for most freight trains
Difficulty: Challenging

@BloodyFanatic - Now that I'm looking at the thumbnail, it does look odd. I feel like there was a reason when I made the map, however I cannot remember why. I will not be changing the level, since it shouldn't affect the map too much. In reality, trains do not stop right at the crossing, they stop before the switch at Norma. I likely put the signal there so that the diamond clears as soon as a train passes the signal.

is the lowest signal for Deval junction facing the wrong direction? all others are allow stopping before the function, the lowest one doesn't

Great map and played it almost entirely on 1x because there's always stuff to do. I was never overwhelmed but you have to plan ahead and sometimes thread the needle for 100%.
