Are you looking for more weapons to kill raiders with? Tired of the same old pew pew that vanilla guns bring you? Are other weapons mods too complicated or add way too many weapons for your liking? Well look no further, friend!

Introducing Simple Weapons, made by a rookie first-time modder who aims to bring a fun variety of weapons in game, each with a unique role and some even with unique properties.

Features

A small but soon to grow arsenal of weapons, all with custom made textures and unique sounds

Lever Action Rifle: The gun that won the West can now be found in your colonists' hands! This rifle has a decent rate of fire and good damage and is an all around a jack of all trades weapon

Kalashnikov Rifle: An alternative to the Assault Rifle, it is both slightly cheaper to make and packs a bigger punch at close ranges. Comes with the cost of being less accurate and having shorter firing distance

Akimbo Machine Pistols: Dual weild machine pistols which offer an uncomparable ammount of firepower to the battlefield. Due to its unwieldly nature, these weapons are only effective when fighting at very close range, but decimate enemies when doing so

Thumper Grenade Launcher: Use this iconic weapon to hurl High Explosive grenades at the enemy! It can fire at a long range and does considerable damage if its shot hits its target, but has a very long reload and lacks accuracy

Dartgun: A tribal weapon to complement their conventional bows. This weapon does very little damage, but poisons its enemies with a new debuff we will go into detail down below.

Simple Crossbow: Tribes now have access to a sniper weapon: an early version of the crossbow. It deals high damage and has great armor pen, but fires quite slowly compared to the great bow and lacks in dps.

LAW: A single use disposable rocket that can be crafted. Its HEAT warhead will put anyone it hits out of the fight, but has a very small blast radius.

Macuahuitl: A club liked weapon built with sharp obsidian blades, allowing it to inflict both blunt and cutting attacks. It is the Neolithic equivalent of a sword, with more dps than the club but having less blunt damage.

Fustibal: Want to hurl 90 gram projectiles at ranged of more than 30 in game meters? Well say hello to the Fustibal, a literal miniature trebuchet. This staff sling deals blunt damage at far range.

Zhuge Crossbow: Tribals can now go full Rambo and gun down enemies epic style. Well, sorta. This repeating crossbow fires a burst of three bolts dealing good damage at the cost of short range and bad accuracy.

Battle Axe: Ever want to cleave off your enemies limbs in just one swing? Or be a Viking, at least? The battle axe dishes out a massive amount of damage each attack at the cost of very slow attack speed.

Caseless Rifle: The needle gun of this mod. The rifle doesn't deal great damage against unarmored targets, but can rip through armored enemies quite easily.

Plasma Rifle: Your classic pew pew energy weapon. A "bolt action rifle" to complement the charge rifle. It fires superheated plasma which burns through enemies and their armor at decent range.

Anti-Materiel Rifle: Just when your average sniper rifle isn't enough. This rifle shoots uranium sabots which tear off limbs and destroy parts, but fires pretty slowly.

Spandau Machinegun: Who doesn't like a MG42? The Spandau fires very rapidly and deals good damage at long range, but lacks in accuracy.

Battle Rifle: The iconic M14 now in your hands! The Battle Rifle is a versatile sniper alternative that performs decently both in short and long range engagements.


A New form of Damage: Poison

Currently in the base game, there is no real poison mechanic implemented. This mod adds a proper poison damage system, with the Blowgun causing poison damage with its darts. Poison builds up slowly and causes pain and will induce heart attacks the higher the severity, but is treatable like an illness and will rapidly heal once treated.

thats actually an issue thats been bothering me lately too but i just dont have the time to code anymore, if you could fix it that would be awesome!

Thanks for the ideas. I can't really take credit for the mod; original author was elite cassidy. I'm learning a bit about exactly how the hediff (poison, toxic, stun, etc.) system works so I may be able to implement something, at some point. No promises! :)

I love the idea of the blowgun and its poison mechanic but would it be possible to have a less than lethal variant? Instead of Heart attack say can you make one that does a paralysis like effect? Or one that puts targets to sleep via anesthetic? Just a thought and subbing anyways for the fact you also added crossbows. (Maybe you could also add advanced versions of bows/crossbows that are poison tipped as well.) Just some thoughts and very nice mod.
