Description
This mod adds 5 new crates in which you can store items. Those crates for the most part behave like normal, metal crate.

The regular metal crate is 5x4.

Crate
Description
Reinforced Crate
You can instatly craft it with 3 Steel bars. It's space is 5x5.
Titanium-Aluminium Crate
You can craft it using previous crate and 2 Titanium Aluminium Alloys. It's also 5x5, but you can hold this crate with only 1 hand. The second hand you can use to hold a gun, a flashlight, or even a second crate! Next crates also can be held using only 1 hand.
Thorium-Infused Crate
You can craft it using 2 Titanium-Aluminium Crates and 4 Thorium. It's 5x6.
Reinforced Thorium-Infused Crate
You can craft it using Thorium-Infused Crate, 4 Ballistic Fibers and Oxygenite Shard. It's 6x6.
Alien Crate
The last crate (for now), can be crafted using previous crate and 2x of: Dementonite, Fulgurium, Incendium and Physicorium. It's extremely expensive, but it's worth, since it's size is 7x7!

Future features for this mods:

  • Add upgradable toolbelts
  • Add upgradable storage containers (those little cases)
  • Add even more and bigger crates, but designed to hold specific type of items (for example medical, materials etc.)
  • Tell me what you would like to see!

This mod doesn't go far enough. A medium cabinet full of storage containers has 180 slots. And the shelves take up a fair amount more room. Your alien crates make a shelf have 196 slots. Not worth it at all.

@hedzik I always wondered though. How does one put items into the crate while underwater. without exposing the item to water. By what black magic are we capable of such things?

I'm using Neurotrauma mod atm and i have been busy with medical items. My personal suggestion on the medical department would be like so :

-Antidote crates
-Poison crates
-Biohazard crates (idk. slap a fancy biohazard logo on a green crate :D)
-A crate to store copious amount of saline, stabilozine, plastiseal and ethanol perhaps
-Probably a surgical tool crate (Neurotrauma had surgery elements in it)

Also, you may be interested in storage containers as well. Fabricators that are linked to storage cabinets can pull materials from storage containers in said cabinets.

Are the crates waterproof? Just need to know if they are safe to use in salvaging certain wreck items.

Almost perfect.
The only thing missing is a «Milk crate» that can be used as a throwable projectile for causing blunt damage to your enemies.
