-MOS- Aquilae Artillery Corvette

Back at Earth, a new planetary defence fleet was in construction by the order of several important people ruling the planet. Through many weeks of discussions, talks, and reunions, it was finally decided to give the MOS shipyards green light on developing the first vessel of this new forming faction. This is the backstory of the Aquilae Artillery Corvette.

The Aquilae serves with the role of bringing heavy firepower both in atmospheric and exospheric way. Thanks to its turrets installed in superfiring positions, dealing damage won't be a problem with them. It also counts with a primitive point-defense system that allows to hunt incoming missiles or small threats.

Leaving the weaponry aside, the speed was one of the strong points of the ship. Designed with hit and run tacticts and possibly be used as an scout for bigger fleets, the full hydrogen propulsion pack offers a great forward thrust, thus achieving max speed in mere seconds. It is also able to take off from planetary pads thanks to its landing gear system.

Protection-wise, it wasn't the best. Covered with light armor on all of its components the vessel was subject to being torn apart easily in brutal fights. This is why the main advantage of the ship is the speed that allows for hit and run tactics that minimize damage.

The Generals were very happy with this product and quickly began ordering more Aquilae corvettes that would see use for years.
