Description

This mod makes bots (or players) very hard to be killed. They will stay unconscious instead of dying. They can still be killed by “instant killing” method (e.g. crush by a submarine).

This mod is inspired by https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2478309212

Instead of modifying the Human.xml, which also affect hostile humans. We introduce an item by which we can select who should not be killed.

What it does

This mod adds an item call “Immortal Injector”, which can be used like a common medical item. When we inject it on persons, it gives a talent to them which:

  • Prevent them from dying, but keep them unconscious. They still need medical attentions to wake.
  • Prevent them from dying from water pressure. Bots will still try to find a diving suit if they are on dry land (but not if they are already underwater).
  • Prevent them from transforming into a husk. They will still get infected.

This item is sold on every station with 1 mark, or fabricated with a bandage (which I think it is the most available)

My motavition

Currently, there is no way to truly revive/respawn a bot even with cheats. Bots still disappear on level transition.

I don’t want to baby-sitting bots or retry a 30 minutes campaign just to keep bots with talents that cannot be compensated with the campaign’s rewards.

I want bots that can be neutralized but without worrying about losing them completely.

I was just killed while under the effect of the injector. I guess if the Bleed-out Bar drops to 0, you die.

After some digging I've made a different mod with a different implementation if anyone is interested: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3004350619 fixed all of the mentioned issues as well

Still works! Thanks for the mod.

Things to know for anyone wanting to use it:

- It only works on the person using the item, so to apply it to the bot you must give them the item and then switch to them and use it (To check that it worked open their talents, you'll see an immortal talent added)

- It doesn't heal instantly when your bar drops low, but does so very fast. The normal monsters won't outdamage the healing, but if you take SMG and shoot the bots while they are down, they can still die since you'll outdamage the heal

It's probably to prevent trolling via injecting it into the local fauna.

this mod doesnt work properly for me. When i inject bots with it they dont get the talent. But it works on me. If i cheat and control bot and then use the injector - then talent appears.

Ok so i got a good test by being swarmed by mudraptors and can say with confidence that it works.

Have y'all tested it against the random enemies instead? it might be worked out so you can negate that in case you shoot in a crawler or something. i'm currently testing it i'll get back with my findings.

Thank you! This is exactly the thing I needed! We use bots in multiplayer campaign as there's just not enough of us to operate ships, but our bots insisted on suffocating themselves, now we don't need to babysit them.
Small issue though: serum worked fine when adding talent to players, but failed to do so on bots. But it's only a small issue, as you can add the talent directly with console commands and it works fine.

Same here, i see the talent but everyone died after making sure i applied it to everyone. only thing it seemed to do was make me immune to pressure.
