(Scoop Slam Lift Arm Drag)

"Cancels," in fighting games, occur when an attacking player interrupts one strike or combo with another of their own. Professional players use this to create openings, to use part of the first attack's animation to sneak past their enemy's defenses and land positively lethal combos. Taking the lessons of video games to heart, you can learn to cancel a scoop slam into an arm drag. That is to say, when holding your opponent upside down, you can suddenly decide to grab their arm and hurl them over your back. While this won't hurt their spine as much as a scoop slam, you'll thank yourself for cancelling into an arm attack the next time you lock the damaged limb in a submission hold.
