Description
I'm Bleeding!
I'm Bleeding! encourages preparation for combat by adding a bleed mechanic to the game. Each point of damage that you take from an attack (after armor) has about a 2% chance to cause you to start bleeding. Picking thorny plants also has a 50% chance to cause bleed. The goal of this is to make combat more challenging and interesting for experienced players, encouraging preparation and increasing the value of healing items.

Bleed Mechanics
Initially, bleeding will start out in a warning phase with only a minor loss in health (1 damage every 5 seconds), but after being left untreated for at least 30 seconds the damage will increase to starvation levels. The warning phase can be made permanent or skipped entirely in the mod configuration options.

Curing Bleed
In order to cure bleed, you must restore 5 health (all at once, so sleeping won't work). Generally this is best done by using a healing food or item. Bleed can also be made non-lethal in the configuration options, in which case it will cure itself once you've been reduced to 1 health. Wormwood is immune to bleed, along with Woodie while in his wear forms.

Creepy Blood
Bleeding players will periodically leave blood on the ground (or oil for WX78, purely aesthetic). Standing close to blood will cause characters besides Wigfrid to lose sanity, similarly to monsters (this can be turned off in the configuration options). Blood will fade away on its own after a while.

Red Mushrooms
To help with deal with bleed, particularly in the early game, raw red caps have been tweaked to restore just enough health to cure bleeding.

Cooked red caps now deal more damage when eaten than raw red caps used to. This is to replace their raw counterpart's use as an offensive poison.

NOTE: DST Minus API is required for this mod to work. View its workshop page for more info.

tiny suggerstion: for the blood sprite (the one on the floor) it would look so much more better if you added tiny strokes of a darker colour in a square pattern (but not aligned, chaotic-like), just like those pencil scribbes that the art of the characters have

Small suggestions: If the Player is either shadow or lunar alligned it should have some sort of respective tint or animation in the blood. maybe it could emit some lunar energy or shadow fuel.
Another thing that would be cool is if the player is playing with something completely lunar or shadow based (example playable pets mod) the blood could become pure lunar energy for lunar alligned creatures and pure shadow fuel/pure horror for shadow creatures

@Phanna

Yes that's fair, Wanda kind of already has a constant bleed effect anyway (this mod was developed before she was released and I kind of forgot about her, whoops). I'll give her immunity soon in the next update I push.

Dude I like these mods you made.

very well put together and makes you think about how you play,
I was just wondering if there is any way to add Wanda as an exception as she cannot heal normally under any circumstance so she only stops bleeding when she dies

Very cool. I especially fancy the blood effects.
