Path to Unity - New Liu Bei Faction Feature

Ever wondered that Liu Bei's faction was really lackluster compared to the likes of Cao Cao and Sun Ce? All you really have is a better tax building, the ability to cheese the game so hard that you can win in roughly 10 turns, not fight the Han Empire at all even if you're at war, and two archer units.

For a faction that will eventually be one of the "Big Three", I just found Liu Bei to be, well, very very boring to play (unless you wanna cheese the confederation diplomacy for fun).

This mod gives him a new faction feature called "Path to Unity". It is basically very similar to Sun Ce's Legacy of Wu. Admittedly I modeled most of the bonuses and designs based on his feature.

The mission objectives for Path to Unity is mostly based on Liu Bei's journey from his shenanigans in Xu all the way to con-*ahem*-making his way into Shu.

In theory, yes. This feature is available to Liu Bei in all start dates he's available to play. However, I designed this feature based on his 190 start. So there will be certain missions that are either very difficult or impossible to complete in other start dates. Overall, not all missions are easy. Even if you cheese confed, you still gotta get the generals, level them up, and fight Cao Cao and Lu Bu, the characters, not the factions (but technically wiping out Cao Cao or Dong Zhuo's faction should in theory complete the objective too - not fully tested).


No, it really isn't; sadly. Each mission objective and mission set are considered as CEOs. And that alone already makes this mod incompatible with any mod that does the same. The Overhaul mod authors are more than welcome to use my mod as a template though, if they wish to do something similar.


Basically anything that does not edit CEOs. Most of those mods should be compatible with this mod.


There appears to be a UI bug in Liu Bei's faction progression menu that I am not sure how to get rid of. If you run the game, you will eventually understand what I mean. From what I'm seeing, it looks like an aesthetic bug so it most likely would not affect the gameplay.
