What's worse than being locked up in prison? Being locked up in a prison that's freezing cold. Kerm Regional Reformatory is here not to correct inmates through time without other people and being forced to sit in a concrete cell for hours on end, it's here to correct inmates through sheer physical trauma. Not only through being subjected to near sub-zero temperatures all day long, but also through walking up and down stairs to get nearly anywhere. As Kerm Regional is the only prison west of the Sawtooth River built literally into the side of a mountain, the prison had to add some safety walls to hold the mountianside together and stop it from tumbling down and destroying the place. With the walls in the way, there's no easy way to traverse across the mountains except the stairs inside the prison. Movement anywhere is largely restricted due to the narrow staircases and snow-capped trees outside. Honestly, what could be worse than being locked up in a prison that's freezing cold? Well, being in one without anyone else...
