[WOTC] Iridar's Loadout Manager

Description
Adds new functionality to Loadout and Squad Select screens to save and equip units' loadouts.

Loadout Screen

Adds two buttons to the Armory Loadout screen:

Save Loadout - clicking this button will bring you to the Save Loadout screen, where you will see the list of previously saved loadouts on the left, and the list of items currently equipped on the unit on the right. You can toggle checkboxes near each item to decide whether you want to save that particular item in the loadout. Then you can click the top element in the loadout list to save it as a new loadout, or you can click an existing loadout to overwrite it. You can also delete previously saved loadouts on this screeen.

When entering loadout name, it's highly recommended that you use only English letters, numbers and empty spaces. Avoid fancy characters like quotes or slashes.

Equip Loadout - clicking this button will bring you to the Equip Loadout screen, where you will see the list of previously saved loadouts on the left, and the list of items contained in the currently selected loadout on the right. You can toggle checkboxes near each item to decide whether you want to equip that particular item on the unit. Then you can click the "equip loadout" button at the bottom of the screen to equip the selected items.

If the item saved in the loadout is not currently available, the mod may attempt to suggest a replacement item.

If there are any issues with loadout items, the item name will be highlighted in a different color, and you can put your mouse over the item to display a tooltip that will explain the issue.

Filters and Search - both Save Loadout and Equip Loadout screens have a button in the lower right corner that can be used to cycle through different loadout filters. You can filter loadouts by soldier class, by weapon restrictions, or disable the filter entirely to see all of the loadouts. Near the Filters button there is a Search button, which can be used to filter out loadouts by loadout name.

Squad Select

Equip Loadout button is added under each soldier's panel on the Squad Select screen. Known issue: when not using robojumper's Squad Select, the "Equip Loadout" button may linger under the soldier panel even after the soldier is removed from the squad.

Squad Items button is added to the top left corner of the screen. Clicking it will toggle the list of all items equipped on the entire squad, so you can check at a glance how many medikits you have on the mission, for example. You can mousever an item in the list to see who has it equipped.

KNOWN ISSUES
  • Weapon upgrades are not supported. If you save a loadout with an upgraded Magnetic Rifle, then when you equip that loadout later, the mod will look for *any* Magnetic Rifle, starting with those that do not have any weapon upgrades installed at all.
  • PCS are not supported.
  • If you purchase a squad upgrade for a weapon, you have to update the loadout manually. If you save a loadout with a Magnetic Rifle, then purchase the Beam Rifle upgrade, the loadout will still equip a Magnetic Rifle.
  • No controller support currently.

REQUIREMENTS

COMPATIBILITY

[WOTC] Automated Loadout Manager - these two mods are technically compatible, but they add new buttons into the same place on the Armory Loadout screen, so you would have to reposition them manually through config.

Other than that, should be compatible with anything and everything.

CONFIGURATION

Many of the mod's features are configurable through Mod Config Menu.

Positioning of some of the UI elements: ..\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\2664422411\Config\XComUI.ini Default MCM settings: ..\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\2664422411\Config\XComWOTCIridarManualLoadoutManager_DEFAULT.ini You might want to back up these files when deleting User Config folder: Your MCM settings: ..\Documents\my games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config\XComWOTCIridarManualLoadoutManager.ini Your Saved loadouts: ..\Documents\my games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config\XComLoadoutManager.ini

Automated Backups

Since saved loadouts are stored in a config file, and deleting the User Config folder is a common troubleshooting step, in order to protect you from accidentally deleting your loadouts, the mod automatically backs them up into a binary file:
..\Documents\my games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\X2LoadoutManagerBackup.bin

The backup is saved every time you save a loadout. When you start the game after a config wipe, you will get a popup message asking whether you want to restore saved loadouts from backup.

In known issues, its said "not supporting weapons upgrades". Does the loadout save load pick the weapon type ? or the weapon Name ? In other word, if im giving a custom name for every weapons, will it works correctly ?

Then, from what i have understood, this version isn't automated but seems to work better than the automated one. The manual and automated versions seems to be compatible, but are they complementary ? In other words, can the automation from the other mod, and the working loadout saving from this one can work together to make a perfectly automated loadout manager to avoid loosing countless minutes in the mission lobby ?

Depending answers above, and depending my gaming style, which is "lazy", Is the manual version fill my lazy playstyle ? or should i stay on the Automated version ?

Hi. Im actually using the Automated Loadout Manager. Im wondering to switch for that verion because the automated verion has some problems. If the soldier is sent into intensive training, officer training, or is injured, most of utilities are unequiped and after several hundreads of missions im starting to be really annoyed, especially when im managing a dozen of squads.

As said in this version, the loadout saving seems less "clunky" than the automated version but i have read the description here and im hesitating because of questions im now asking:

Hi @Iridar - firstly, thanks for all the wonderful mods, this one like many of your others I can't imagine playing without.

Quick question for you, where does the path "..\Documents\my games\.." get set for the backup file'X2LoadoutManagerBackup.bin'. I ask, as I've moved my Documents folder from the C:\ drive and this is the only thing that persists writing back to that location and no respecting the relocation. I wondered if it was due to the local case 'my game's but suspect the mod or the MCM mod is writing to a literal path.

Not a big deal, just would like to fix it locally if I can.

Start typing RPGO in the console and see what options auto complete gives you.

You might be able to do something there for RPGO console commands, though I don't know if it has a command for giving specific specializations.

No, there isn't.

Great QoL-Mod!
Another question @Iridar since you are one, if not the greatest XCOM2 Modding-Expert: Is there a Mod like this to save or create Loadouts for RPGO - Commanders Choice/Starting Abilities Character Presets?
(For Example a self created "Guardian Class" with a saved StartingPerk-Combo for better Reflexfire)

World be great QoL and timesparing if you have found a good Perk/Class Combi which you could Save an Reload on another character or in another Campaign.
