I never had in mind that people would dislike the fast upwards speed of the craft. That's something I never thought about. The reason of having weaker counter thrust is the CPU limit. I wanted the craft to stay within Tier 1 while remaining as cheap as possible. That's what the extra compartments for adding CPU extenders are for. You could upgrade to a higher tier and install stronger counter jets.
I could have set up a thruster switch inside the P menu.which deactivates half of them maybe. But that's something you could probably do as well since its only a matter of a few mouse clicks.
I dont understand your sentence about "going outside and around the front of the ship..." You can acces the cockpit from inside the ship and also re-enter the ship via the drone hatch on the roof.
