Description
"Bite my lip and close my eyes, Take me away to paradise"

Hello! Today, I bring you my newest map, Piney Woods, Texas. And this time, no heightmaps were used, so the terrain and everything was created and placed by me! :D

This map is based off of the Piney Woods region of East TX, more specifically around a corridor of Interstate 20 from around Tyler eastern towards near Shreveport, Louisiana. The 2 cities I heavily tried to base this map off of are Longview (not the Green Day one, even though I just quoted the lyrics) and Marshall but cities like Tyler and Lufkin were also decent inspirations for it. In the southern/southwestern area of the map is a river, based off the Sabine River and the forested area around it is based off of the Little Sandy National Wildlife Refuge, not far from the town of Hawkins, where I've spent plenty of time in my life. The northwestern corner has a lake, based off of the many, MANY lakes around the area in real life. In the northeastern corner, there's some large hills, which is about as fantasy as this map really gets since overall the area is very flat in person. One thing to note here is the presence of Stagecoach Road, an old road that apparently used to link Marshall and Shreveport. Allegedly, this road is very haunted... so cims beware! After that, the southeastern corner is pretty plain. Nothing too special here, but the not special places deserve representation too! Finally, there's the center of the map which contains all the basic infrastructure needed for a starting city.

Map Information

This map contains numerous road connections, 4 plane connections, 3 rail connections, and zero ship connections. There's deposits of oil, ore, and fertile land scattered around the map, which should all be easily identifiable with the SCT-NATURERESERVE theme I used for this map. All required items are listed in the sidebar as well as in the one click collection. THIS MAP DOES ALSO REQUIRE MASS TRANSIT. WITHOUT MASS TRANSIT, THIS MAP IS NON-FUNCTIONAL.

Other Information

Not too much else to say here, other than a thank you to anyone who checks out this map and to the Cities: Skylines community! Please hit the like button if you like it and follow my workshop page! @Captain_Rex(CT-2454) Not sure what made you waste 5 minutes when it says it needs said DLC multiple times in the description and on the sidebar... but sorry about that anyway

I'm originally from Natchitoches, Louisiana... thanks for a taste of the home-region. Or at least nearby!

Very cool. I live a little further north, near Mount Pleasant but I go into Longview often.

@Birdsniffer sweet, thanks! Mineola is a pretty nice little place from my experience there. I haven't been out there in a while but I've wanted to go back there for a bit to try out the East Texas Burger Co. again and perhaps do some fishing :)

Excited to try this map out, I'm from Mineola.
