BR 57 Panzerlok

The BR 57 is a series of armored steam locomotives (steam locomotives) produced during ww2. The locomotive in Whyte notation had a 0-10-0 layout. The steam locomotive was structurally based on the type BR 57G10 locomotives produced in the period 1910-1925. The BR 57 panzerlok locomotive was created by modifying the G10 steam locomotives, and the main change was to add armor plates protecting, first of all, the cabin and boiler of the steam locomotive. Of course, this led to an increase in the weight of the locomotive and a reduction in its maximum speed. At the same time, however, its resistance to small arms fire has increased significantly.
