Long Range Radio

Description
Ever wanted to just make your own radio show, only to find that the vanilla radios don’t have nearly enough power to reach a good portion of the map? Fear not, because this mod adds 3 new radios, each with enough power to transmit from Louisville to Rosewood!

- Battery Operated: This ham radio has a range of 100 kilometers, the max that the game will let me go. Same battery life as a civvie ham radio.
- Power grid: this ham radio is powered by generators or the power grid while still having long range. Best used for when there aren’t many batteries left or the batteries are being used for more important things like walkie talkies or flashlights.
-Palpatine’s Ham Radio: Only accessible via debug mode, this ham radio is battery operated but does not drain the battery, making it have infinite power and full map range.

Crafting recipes can be found in the in-game crafting menu.

mod is dope, i do have issues with people sometimes not able to hear my voip over it, I am thinking it might be the fact that the range of a radio on vanilla vs a modded server with more area to cover it might not work as intended as far as whole map coverage, however that happens

Demonlilman, I get modding may seem daunting at first, but a mod like that wouldn't be too difficult to make. I recommend looking at the wiki page for the radios and going to the "code" section. From there it should be a simple case of changing numbers in the game files for the mod to work.

Structuring the files so others can download and use the mod will be the hardest part, but I think that is covered in a pinned message in the PZ discord's #modding channel.

Hey i'm interested in getting a mod that actually reduces the range of radios, and you seem to be the person who has gotten the closest to that goal. What are your thoughts on it @pieandcheese647 ?
Replace the walkie talkies with something of a lower range

VOIP works just like vanilla game radio VOIP, which can be weird at times. If this mod isn't working, then there's other issues at play.

One One read the guerilla radio magazine (dont remember which volume it is), it teaches the recipe to make the improvised radio

How do I make a makeshift ham radio because it shows I need the makeshift ham radio to make the improved radio

I know it sounds weird but it only happens with this mod enabled

Weird question

But has anyone else had this mod force respawn zombies even tho it’s disabled on the server ?

Definitely works with VOIP. Thanks for this mod. Very useful for a static "base" radio
