Career and theory:
The SS Naronic was launched on May 26th, 1892 as an improved and enlarged design from the SS Nomadic 1 and SS Tauric. She made her maiden voyage on July 11th 1892, and completed 5 voyages uneventful except on November 27th 1892, when 34 cattle passed away between departing New York and her arrival in Liverpool.

On February 11th, she left Liverpool harbours to begin her 6th voyage. She never arrived in New York, all had lost their lives. Some believe she smashed into an iceberg, and sunk with all hands. However, this is another theory that the sinking is based from:

Naronic's boilers were reported to be in awful condition by the time of her final voyage, and if word got out that Naronic sank from the company's lack of maintenance, they would receive all the blame.
Naronic likely was somewhere mid Atlantic in a violent storm, when her boilers exploded. This would kill many instantly, and possibly flung the capsized lifeboat off its falls and into the sea where it would drift in the storm until picked up. The other lifeboat was launched (only 2/6 getting off the ship) but those in it were swept away by the violent winter gale. Naronic sank by the stern with a strong list in around 30 minutes. Furthermore, Naronic had quite a few bow bulkheads which would greatly reduce a head-on iceberg crash, though a sideswipe would still doom her. An additional note, her engine and boiler room was a literal 1/5th of her entire length, so if this was to be punctured the chances of her floating is absolute 0. This is all a theory though, based off Charles Haas.

Another theory that is very plausible is that she sank like the Derbyshire. Her huge, many bow vents slowly flood until her holds are staved in before she plunges rapidly, thank you Liam for this suggestion that even I did not consider before! :)

This model sinks in around 6 minutes, and is dedicated to all 74 who lost their lives on the Naronic, and the wives of the crew who were driven to insanity over her loss.
