Description
My second (and slightly) better version of the iconic Avro Lancaster Mk I heavy bomber.

It's an approximation, not a 1:1 replica.

This is the famous Dam Buster version used during operation Chastice targeting dams in the Ruhr area. The Möhne and Edersee dams were breached, and the Sorpe Dam sustained minor damage.
The plane is armed with the equally famous "Upkeep" bouncing bomb designed to bounce on the surface of the water, hit the dam and sink to a proper depth before it detonated in order to cause maximum possible damage.
It's also armed with 2 + 2 + 4 machine guns in nose, dorsal and rear turrets.

Alt controls to fly.
W/S: Variable throttle.
S: Ground brakes.
A/D: Ground steering/Yaw.
Up/Down arrow: Pitch.
Left/Right arrow: Roll.
X/Disable steering: Landing gear.
B/Beacon: Retractable landing lights.
Hold X/Invert steering: Elevation indicator for bomb drop. *
Fire action 1/Num 1: Upkeep bouncing bomb.

NEW!
Fire in the engines!
PgUp-PgDn/Auxiliary (without Alt): Fire in engine one.
Alt + PgUp-PgDn/Auxiliary: Fire in engine two.
L/Headlights: Fire in engine three.
K/Hazard light: Fire in engine four.
I can't stop the engines since the plane won't fly with lopsided engines but you get a lot of smoke and some flames (as in orange smoke) for RP purposes.

To release the bomb with best chance of success, fly low (8-15 metres) and slow (180-230 kph) and release.
It takes 2 seconds for the bomb to get spinning before it is released so there is a 2 second delay before it is actually dropped.
The bomb has an 18 second timer before it detonates and it can roll a couple of hundred metres. Sadly as always in this game the randomness of movement and bounces etc. is high so direction and distance is a bit of a gamble, but it works reasonably often.
The real bomb was induced to spin backwards before release to bounce off the water surface but that works rather poorly on the ground so I made it spin forwards to help it roll better. I tried using actuators to get it going but sadly as soon as the bomb is released it stops dead since there seems to be no inertia induced by actuator mvovement and no momentum is transferred, so I had to use some thrusters to get the bomb spinning and keep spinning after release.
Again the randomness of the game sometimes makes the bomb explode on impact when dropped from <10 metres, sometimes one can drop it from 100 metres and it still works fine, so I've done the best I can.
The randomness also includes the bomb bouncing extremely high on release at times and at times not at all, so I advice you to pull up hard as soon as you see the bomb dropping to minimize risk of getting hit by it.

* In reality they used converging light beams to gauge the correct altitude over the water surface to release the bomb but that doesn't relly work in daylight and the lights in the game are not directional really so Instead I added a red light in cockpit that indicates an altitude below 18-ish metres when activated

A green light will light up in the cockpit when the bouncing bomb is away.

The turrets are controlled from their respective seat. Alt controls.
Arrow keys/Mouse: Aim.
Fire action/Num 1: Fire.

Camera 1: Bomb sight.
Camera 2: Nose turret.
Camera 3: Dorsal turret.
Camera 4: Rear turret.

TIP!
If you want to practice on a nice dam search for "Hydroelectric dam" in the workshop (with quotation marks). I don't want to link directly to it since I haven't asked permission but you will find it easily enough, and it's a great target for the bomb.

Feel free to edit, but if you re-upload publically in any way please acknowledge the original creation and creator.

Have fun!

Set the elevation indicator light to Hold X since K is now used for fire in an engine.

Thanks to memers for the fire and smoke idea! :steamhappy:

A tow version of my Lancaster has been uploaded. No bombs but a winch at the rear so you can try and attach it to the Horsa fron wheel and tow. I recommend trying it with one pilot in each plane becasue it sure doesn't work with just one player. :)

CAMDEN I just uploaded two versions of the Airspeed Horsa Mk II glider. It's self propelled by a hidden prop and electric engine so you can either spawn it in the air or take off and fly it to a good altitude where you can cut the engine. Engine is however needed for sharper turns etc since the game basically robs you of all speed while using flaps of any kind. :)

Halifax bomber is on my list. No promises on when I get to it though.

make a halifax bomber

I just tried to make them as one vehicle and remote control the Lancaster from the glider's pilot seat as well as the glider itself but they behave so differently it just is impossible.
It still might work with two people though in the way I described below.
