found the answer, it was posted on the comments on the otheer versions but not here, basically game needs to be restarted to actually load in the maps. ^^`

@momiji I don't have any of the original files and I don't want to troubleshoot it, but try this version
or this other version . They only have one arena but maybe they'll work for you.

RIP, after so many years, barely heard of this game and this mod doesnt work for me ;-;
