[SAE] SI/R-2 Stiletto

The Stiletto is a more, unique type of ship coming from SAE. Designed for nothing but speed, its a relatively rare sight despite it being a well known design. Originally designed as an interceptor, the ship was deemed too difficult for most pilots to be able to hand properly. Only the most skilled pilots could harness the crafts full potential-without getting themselves killed. This relegated it to a rather short military career, with only a few ships still serving it's original role.

It would find a second life however, as a racer. A high acceleration rate and lightweight design perfectly suited this role. It's one of the most capable racing ships out there, with SAE always fielding at least one during most major starship races. One of the class, the Dynamo, even won the vaunted Shinobu Circuit, beating out entries from OSF and other major shipyards.
