Description
Gateway Project - Amtrak Portal North Bridge

Railway 2 is a brand new network package which is packed with numerous new features, while maintaining the existing features of original Railway 1 project. It also brings new types of networks such as quads and mainlines. Check Railway 2 Guide in the collection, linked above.

Portal North Bridge
Portal North is a part of Amtrak's Gateway Project. It is a replacement of current Portal North bridge that is a swing bridge, dating back early 20th century. Another overpass is planned that is named 'Portal South' which will replace another outdated infrastructure piece. Portal South is also visually identical to North bridge, with minor changes in pillar design.

- Catenary types (tower, portal, single-arm) can be changed with Adaptive Networks.
- Networks include Transmission lines that is part of Northeast Corridor infrastructure.
- Pillars feature terrain-snapping foundations, networks also have auto-abutments.
- Networks includes Guardrails which can be activated with Adaptive Networks.
- All networks are bi-directional; you can customize lane use and direction with TMPE.

This is a great bi-directional bridge network. However, when I try to connect it to two 2-track Railway 2 tracks, the fences at the edge of the tracks automatically formed an 'X' at the junction and blocking the tracks visually. Adaptive network seems not able to solve the issue, so I wonder if there's any approaches to solve this, or is it just unfeasible to connect the asset to multiple lines at its nodes? Thanks a lot!

Is this the only one of all Railway 2 networks that has 4 bi-directional tracks? I want to connect stations without trains from different directions crossing each other to avoid jams. All the track layouts are ingenious, but even the dynamic ones have the inbound and outbound tracks bundled together; what I need is in and out text to each other, which would totally be possible with bi-directional tracks like in this bridge, which also has a ground version, albeit with the same pattern of 2 + 2 and not like the elevated and bridge version, which is a real pity. The station tracks themselves don't seem to like being laid outside of stations and don't connect well if tried to be used as extension.

I need to find time to check it myself, give me a list of networks in place causing this issue. If it's something on the network, Im not sure I'll be able to fix it within a reasonable time as I'm working full time

I have a problem with the two-track and quad-track networks not connecting smoothly. Instead of the guard rails covering the gap as shown in the last picture, it just ends abrubtly. Even the sidewalk things aren't transitioning properly. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you! I thought that might be the problem, I'll work on it when I get home tonight!

you need more space - that's a bridge portion probably if you drag it too short, it will only drag half arc, drag it longer
sateller69 5 Nov, 2022 @ 4:22pm
Instead of the full arch, it only goes half way and stops.

explain half of the bridge

Ok so I used this bridge in a city and it worked fine. I started a new city, I'm trying to build over a large body of water and only half of the bridge comes up. Am I doing something wrong?
