The БИ-1 (BI-1) was a Soviet liquid rocket powered interceptor aircraft during the World War 2 designed by
Aleksander Yakovlevich Bereznyak along with Aleksei Isaev and manufactured by OKB-293
There were a total of 9 aircraft built and 13 flights from May 1942 to March 1945 at which the aircraft was retired.
It's power plant was a powerful but very fuel consuming Dushkin D-1A-1100 liquid-fuel rocket motor producing 10.79 kN (2,430 lbf) of thrust.
It was equipped with 2 nose mounted 7.92mm SHKAS machine guns although some variants possessed 20mm ShVAK autocannons instead.
