Officially, she was made as an escort/gunboat destroyer for use against targets that threaten fleets. Although, she has perhaps "a lot" of ASW, and can fight modern submarine (Not really when you think about how much you NEED, but it's an okay suite of ASW). Deadly in most of her roles, she is only as fast as her Capital Grade ship friends, which is decent, but not enough compared to other DDs. Hence why she is a DDE. Great gunboat capacity, terrible DD hunting capabilities. 360 Degree gun set-up with safe systems allow her to angle at least, to make up for her drawbacks.
