Self Control Milkdrinker Edition

Description
A version of Self Control for those of us that still have a favorite blanket.

Starts off with the mod cap set to 250 and the configuration already unlocked.

Hypothetically asked questions
  • Why would I ever install this?
    Beats me. For the memes?
  • Then why did you even make this?
Frankly, so I can link it to people on the game's discord server.
  • That's a terrible reason.
    That's not even a question.
  • Hold on, is that a Pointless Hacking Minigame?
Oh look at the time, gotta scram.

I've set up a Discord server[discord.gg], which is the preferred medium for discussion and bug reports.

I run about 600 mods and the game is now subpar without them. ( I've tried ) Maybe I'm mod addicted but wow is rimworld so much better.

@swarmdruid where can I find your mod list?

250?! Oh God I would die. My essential QoL modlist that I build others off of is over 400 mods. Biggest is over 800 and honestly does run perfectly fine. No crashes, no broken pawns, nothing. You just have to testplay every time you add a mod and don't use any that cause problems.

dude... im still running well below 100 mods and my game has already broken several times...

@PeteTimesSix i have 566 mod and have no issues.
maybe some errors, sometimes crashes, often my pawns break and i get no raids.

250 mods? No it's fine, my game only take 30 minutes to load! That's not too many, I swear!
PeteTimesSix  [author] 26 Jun, 2022 @ 8:49am
Is a mostly arbitrary number that felt about right to me. From a causing issues or TPS standpoint, mod count is mostly secondary to how many big offender mods you have enabled.

That being said, when someone shows up saying they "run 700 mods and have no issues" the followup is usually "oh, those three pages worth of red errors are always there" and "okay sometimes my pawns just stand there because their AI is exploding but other than that-", so...

Honest question, so is 250 the common "max" you should run? I try to stay under 200 or so, most of them are QoL mods. Thanks

nah, I *need* the Russian translate of the planet of the apes mod. Make that 445 mods.

I don't hit subscribe on EVERYTHING that gets uploaded. Just the everything that doesn't explicitly state an incompatibility with CE
