F-18 Hornet Fighter Jet (WiP)

Description
Rough recreation of the famous F/A-18 Hornet made by McDonnell Douglas. All fourteen missiles now work! Though only the nosegear currently retracts, but that should hopefully change in the future. One thing I'd like to change but probably won't is the cockpit itself. The F/A-18 obviously has a glass cockpit in reality, as it is a fairly recent plane, but I've never been able to figure out monitors. I'll definitely have a go, and hopefully I can make it work, but expect that not to change much from iteration to iteration. The livery is designed to be easily customisable, just change the colour of the stripes and paint your preferred symbol on the wing. Speaking of, yes, I recognise that the paint job underneath appears to be designed for stealth camouflage and the stripes negate that, but I like the way it looks. Feel free to remove the livery if you prefer, of course. Otherwise, hope you enjoy this one! Mostly built it in an attempt to figure out jets again, and I am proud to say the engines will not explode no matter how hard you try (untested claim)! If you go too fast, though, the elevons will bug out, and I honestly have NO idea how to fix that. Presumably I've geared the pivots wrong, but I don't know for sure. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of.

Start sequence:

Press '1' to engage wheel brakes

Lights at your discretion (for reality, before engine start, the beacon light should be on, and the navigation lights as you taxi)

Set engine throttles between 9.00 and 18.00 (make sure both throttles are the same value)

Hold starter for Engine 1 or 2, and watch the respective engine's RPS

When RPS hits 0.50, flip the engine's fuel pump 'on'

Verify RPS accelerates

Repeat for other engine

Disengage wheel brakes

Thrust spoiler to 0.8-0.9 for taxi (you probably will need to taxi, I've struggled with pitch)

Turn HUD on

As you enter the runway, engage the wheel brakes again and run the engine throttles up to 75-100, 180 will work but will burn much more fuel

Once the engines stabilise, thrust spoiler to 0.65 for takeoff, then as needed

Otherwise, all controls are listed!
Hope you enjoy! Have fun destroying the enemy, friends, and civilians!

(Thanks to user "FN-20" for the HUD system. System used linked here )
