I tried to sort out the solutions if mods doesn't work. Hope it can help :

1. Make sure the game is updated to the latest version (25688).

2. Cannot be used with other skins that replace skeletons.

3. Drag mod to the top of the list.

4. Try manual version on Nexus mod.
