Disclaimer: I did not make this map. This map has been uploaded for archival and ease of access purposes as it is not on the workshop already, I do not know how to make maps. So I am unable to fix any issues that you may encounter.


I've been looking for this map for many years after playing it a long time ago. I finally found it and decided to upload it for everyone to enjoy! This map is surprisingly advanced despite it's age, the map's file says it was last modified November 1st, 2005. It comes with spawnable and fully functional spaceships, weapon emplacements, and mines!

The spaceships controls go as follows:
Fighter:
W/S: Turn up/down
A/D: Roll left/right
Left mouse button: Fire weapon
Right mouse button: Move forward

Small Dropship:
W/S: Move up/down
A/D: Turn left/right
Left mouse button: Fire weapon
Right mouse button: Move forward

Large Dropship:
W/S: Move up/down
A/D: Turn left/right
Left mouse button: Move forward
Right mouse button: Open primary doors


The camera on the spaceships with a tv for a seat is broken unfortunately, this was not the case when I played the map all those years ago, I'm not a map maker, so I can't fix it myself. This can be remedied however by welding a camera to the spaceship and no colliding it.

There is also a radio in the center of the map that according to the readme, it can play custom music! Place mp3 files in your "Garrysmod/sound/music/gm_orbit" folder (make them if you don't have them). Label your songs from track0.mp3 to track9.mp3. The buttons on the radio itself is a little wonky, it goes from left to right across the top in the following order '1 2 3 4 0', then the lower row goes '5 6 7 8 9'.

--Description----------------------------------
This is Version 3 of GM_Orbit. Some major improvements have been made to this map since the last
version, so here's a change log:

+ Increased the play area size dramatically

+ Added more spawnable AND pilotable spaceships in each base (can only have 1 of each at a time)

+ Used BSPZIP to pack the skybox into the map, easing online play

+ Completely redesigned bases, ships and everythign else.

+ Added the ComSat, also known as the S.T.F.U. (Sweet Tracks For U) Radio Satellite. To use, put your favorite music in a folder ".../gmod/sound/music/gm_orbit"
and rename it to track0.mp3, track1.mp3 and up to track9.mp3. Then get into the sat and press the buttons.

+ Improved "ready room", now has a screen to watch the action formt he Comsat's viewpoint.

+ Turned the lighting down slightly, for a more secretive atmosphere.

----Known bugs/Warnings---------------------------

+ To get rid of a space-ship, DON'T USE THE REMOVER GUN! Just shoot up
its reactor (1 combine plasma ball usually does the trick.)

+ If you find any more bugs, report them to me, and I'll do my best to get rid of them in the next version.
