Description
This Long Island Railroad map covers the Montauk Branch east of Jamaica Station to Babylon and several other branch lines. This simulation is strictly based on the January 2020 Long Island RR timetable with very small changes made to adapt it to Rail Route.

The morning rush is mostly westbound traffic with a some eastbound revenue and several deadhead trains mixed in. Other than the Montauk Branch to Babylon, there are four other branch lines featured on this map: the West Hempstead Branch (Westwood), Long Beach Branch (Oceanside), Far Rockaway Branch (Hewlett) and the Central Branch.

The Montauk and Atlantic Branches meet back up at Valley Stream as they head east from Jamaica. You will note that most traffic to/from St Albans is from the Montauk Branch while traffic to/from Laurelton is split between the Far Rockaway and Long Beach Branches. The West Hempstead Branch traffic are the exceptions, so keep an eye on them (900 series trains). The eastern end of the Montauk Branch is relatively straight forward. You will note that the westbounds either deadhead back east from Babylon or continue west onto the Central Branch.

From the beginning of the simulation, traffic will steadily build unit the peak between 6:00 and 7:00. The biggest challenge is routing the deadhead trains correctly (train symbols are prefixed with "x"). They will relay at several locations, including VS Relay, Freeport Relay, Seaford, Massapequa Park and Amityville. There are a couple odd balls so keep an eye on those schedules! Be careful not to disrupt the express trains!

Good luck and have fun!

Another romanamor classic. Those oddballs sure did cause some "wait... what?" moments :steammocking: Keep 'em comin'
