USS Texas BB-35 Dreadnought Battleship

Description
The Last Dreadnought

The USS Texas was a New York class battleship of the United States navy and was the last battleship built before the US Navy started construction of the "Standard" class of battleship. She was laid down on April 17th, 1911 making her over 100 years old. she was armed with 10, 14 inch main guns, a formidable and powerful armament for her time.

During her service, she served in both the first and second world wars, receiving 5 battle stars for her performance. During WW1 she served primarily as a convoy escort and gun training ship. Following the war, she entered into drydock for a massive refit and overhaul, where almost all of her casemate secondary guns were removed and replaced with a forest of Anti Aircraft guns. She also had modern 1930's equipment installed and became the first US Navy ship to be fitted with radar, and was the first US Battleship to launch a floatplane. During World War 2, she provided fire support for Operation Torch, the invasion of North Africa, Shelled coastal positions on D-Day, and participated in the Battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa in the pacific, before ferrying troops back home to the US after the war in operation Magic Carpet.

After the end of WW2 she became the first US museum ship and is currently anchored at the San Jacinto State Battleground near Houston, Tx. Unfortunately during her time as a museum ship, she has suffered from sever neglect and mismanagement, leaving her in a vulnerable structural state. However, recent efforts to save the ship have materialized and she will soon go into drydock for repairs. Due to the way this game works, I used the advanced wind turbine as the base template for ships so that they can be placed on water. Sorry if this caused you any confusion for why it is where it is.
