Development

The Cleveland Class Cruiser started in 1930 after the London Naval Treaty with 52 ships planned but only 27 completed. The Cleveland Class was Preceded by the Brooklyn Class Cruiser and then Succeeded by the Fargo Class Cruiser. Nine Cleveland Classes were converted into Independence Class Cruisers.

Service

The Cleveland Class Cruisers were used mainly in the Pacific theatre during World war 2. They were also used with the Fast Carrier Task Force in Jan 1945. They were also used off the coasts of Europe and Africa. All of these ships worked heavily. All of the Cleveland Classes were decommissioned by 1950 except USS Manchester which remained in service until 1956. None were recommissioned for the Korean War as they needed a crew almost as large as the Baltimore Class cruisers. In the 1950's one ship called USS Little Rock was converted to a Galveston Class Guided Missile Cruiser. She served in the Mediterranean often as the Sixth Fleet flagship. She was decommissioned for the final time in 1976 and is now a museum ship in Buffalo New York.

Out of all 27 Cleveland Classes none were destroyed. All except Little Rock were salvaged.

To control the guns the bow gun controls are behind the bridge and the aft guns are below the rangefinders

Also dont tell be about the bow being the wrong colour to the main deck. It is the same colour its just a lighting glitch with XML
