Installing Final Fantasy 14 (Steam) (New Account)

A basic guide on installing and unlocking the game on Steam, this guide does not really cover the purchase and unlock for non-steam accounts, as the information can be mixed and can confuse users.

As well, do keep in mind that Free Trial accounts and 'Full Accounts' are two different account types.
You can turn a Free Trial account into Full Account, but not the other way around. This means a 'Full' account (subscription) stays unlocked on a subscription basis, and never can become free trial again.

Better look for other guides or websites online for installation process for other platforms.

Log into the free trial account on Mogstation website (if you used a free trial account)

Click the "Transfer to Full Game" button shown on the free trial service account.

(Optional) Buy the Endwalker expansion (Unlocks all previous ones)

There is a option to unlock using license keys on Mogstation.

** DISCLAIMER **
Do keep in mind that if you do create a new service account it might not consider your old character on the old 'base' account.

This is especially true if you are coming back from a older version of FF14 like several years ago, you technically already have a 'full account' in that case and is using service account 1, hence creating a new service account would outright treat you as a 'brand new client' separate to your old one.
