THE IMC SONA

The IMC SONA is a sleek and capable end-game deep diver. This vessel is designed for the dangers of deep exploration and features heavy armaments, reinforced armor, high mobility and a companion combat drone. The SONA is intended to be used with its companion drone in combat to guard its long dorsal side. When manned with enough capable crew members the SONA becomes a master of the depths while still presenting challenging and cooperative gameplay.

The belly cockpit command room gives a fun and unique feel to exploring the contents of the rocky surfaces of the deep The reinforced armor of the cockpit provides necessary protection for this brave design.

Ventral "Belly Cockpit" Command Room
The SONA features a high visibility ventral command room surrounded by steel reinforced glass and walls. This lower command room allows the captain to observe wrecks, beacons and artifacts with ease. The large command room contains 11 monitors that display vessel information and features in-room drone and weapons controls. With vessel controls, weapons, drone and AI controls all located within reach the command room gives the captain more control over their vessel than ever before.

Chaingun Autofire
Dual Nose Mounted Chainguns can be set to continuously fire forward to create a cone of death infront of the vessel. The chainguns can still be manually controlled while in autofire mode.

Upper Airlock
A working upper airlock seals other airlock doors and hatches when the upper hatch is open. The upper hatch will automatically close and drain when exiting. This feature is disabled when vessel is docked. If somehow left open you can force close the hatch using the RCS Command Terminal and typing: lockdown dock

Lower Moon Pool
A sealed moon pool airlock is located right outside the lower command room. The moon pool prevents flooding when the lower hatch is open and features a smooth enter and exit transition.

Indicator Lighting
Lighting on Weapon Loaders, Junction Boxes and other devices inform you when systems are in use or need repair. Quickly check rooms with one of the many onboard camera systems to see status.

Terminal Command Required
The IMC RCS Terminal AI is required to toggle battery systems, charging and security features. Located in the command room this terminal allows the captain to change vessel lighting, lockdown sections of the vessel and control some system settings.

Multi-Cam Systems
Three separate camera systems allow the captain to view the vessels exterior, the maintenance crew to view repairable rooms and security to view sensitive areas. Located around the vessel the periscope controlled cameras easily switch with the click of a mouse.

HunterAP: I am really glad you like the sub! The campaign optimized for vanilla just means it is made for the base "vanilla" version of the game with no other required mods. All the parts on the sub are from the vanilla base parts selection. Its not phrased the best I know. :)

I've only recently gotten into the game, and this is one of my favorite subs so far. I don't know if it was massively overpowered back in the day, but at this point, it's not, "optimized for vanilla campaign." It's grossly overpowered for vanilla. It's listed as Tier 2, but it's at least twice as powerful and feature rich as any of the tier 3 subs.

Dark Wizard: Run a wire from the docking port power to power in on the first battery in the battery chain. This will charge the battery from the station. You then switch to battery power and the station will power your sub. Careful of station overload on workshop outposts.

Thanks, that worked great. How do we make it so the sub accepts power from stations when docked, everything turns off and the right energy lights come on.

Dark Wizard: Disconnect the set turbine and fission rate wires from the reactor. All the reporting screens will still work this way but the circuit control for reactor will be off.

How do you disable auto reactor?

Not as far as I know, Its not an issue I've been having with other drones at least.

Darkside99x: The drone should be immortal and not require repairs except structural. Are you running any mods that may affect or replace components like pumps, engines, junction boxes or batteries?

I will take a look at the file tonight to see if a game update changed something.

Seems it's the external drone needing repairs that drives him crazy. It breaks every few minutes.

Having issues with the mechanic bot now, at dock he keeps taking the suits and hangs out above the upper airlock.

On a mission he while still wearing a suit with run back and forth on the little platform with the oxygen generator continuously until you take him off fix mechanical.
