Description
"This is truly one of the mods for ck2."

Greater scale. Greater lore. Greater effort. Greater gameplay.

An Indo-Rome Mod: Renovatio Imperii, is a remake of an old mod I made that adds a new intrigue decision that allowed you to summon an army of mysterious roman-larpers from the far east. This remake however, allows you to get the full and unique Indo-Roman experience, as I wasn't quite satisfied with the quality of the previous iteration.

F e a t u r e s
--------------------

☩One new invasive empire that can be summoned via a decision.

☩A colorful cast of deranged Roman larpers.

☩Automatic barony assignment during the initial invasions.

☩A unique event chain for the eastern expedition.

☩A new culture and collection of titles.

☩Lore quality to make full-time historians vomit uncontrollably.

☩A series of in-jokes.

☩The single best representation of Sino-Roman relations since the cinematic masterpiece Dragon Blade.

☩Chadicus Maximus' Rebellion.

☩Weeaboo Fanfiction + Hurricane Physics.

☩Mithraism and Sun-Praising.

☩The Cult of Manly Men.

☩Some Weird Garbage Heresy.

☩The fall of the Weast and billions dying.

The various Vieti faiths, while dissimilar at a glance, have been living in close cooperation for hundreds of years, leading to a most unusual tolerance of their collective beliefs in particular. These beliefs are as follows:

Vieti Insular Christianity: A strange and almost foreign faith when compared to typical Catholic or Orthodox Christianity, Vieti Insular Christianity is the result of hundreds of years of isolation and separation from the Chalcedonian world. Lacking a proper Bible and relying heavily on oral tradition, This form of Christianity is undoubtedly disparate from its western cousin sects, remaining ever-militant, and almost syncretic in its handling of its accompanying pagan cults.

The Cult of Hereclemasculus: A sect of pseudo-Hellenic pagans who operate under a fluid yet harsh caste system, revering all things they consider to be manlike, worshipping a semi-mythical figure now known as Hereclemasculus, who ostensibly once wandered the world, preaching his virtues of strength and wisdom by espousing them through every action he took. Worshipping the physically imposing and mentally stalwart, while despising the weak and cowardly, the followers of Hereclemasculus are a militant people, often unforgiving of even the smallest slights against their convictions or divine patriarch. (Postscript Statement at the request of Mr. Hunter: They traditionally wrestle naked and covered in oil. For religious reasons, of course.)

The Vetimithraic Cults: Worshippers of Mithras and Sol, these heliacal cultists adhere to their creed of burning light, believing themselves to be the faithful of the almighty Giver of All Life and protecting founder of all civilization. Over the centuries, they have adopted various fragments of doctrine from other heliocentric faiths across the silk road. Leading to a dogma that is undoubtedly 'the Cult of the Sun.'

The Romantic Cults: Undoubtedly the most unusual of Vieti faiths, Romantic pagans, though their beliefs often differ from person to person and community to community, usually believe that the Roman Empire was a translated metaphor for the perfected spirit realm in which man used to reside, before being exiled to material world and forced into an endless struggle against barbarism and anarchy. Romantics are often avid and eager mystics, with many being accused of witchcraft for their unusual beliefs and strange rituals. Many Romantics believe Rome itself is a state of being rather than an actual physical city or former nation. One might describe the Romantics as gnostic, due to their belief that a perfected understanding of Rome can lead to one achieving the status of 'Divus.' A divine entity and protector of mankind.

The Borealic Britannic Cult: Though originating as an offshoot of Vetimithraicism, cultivated by the warlord Britannicus after subjugating much of the steppe, the Borealic faith is a syncretic earth and sky cult, diverse in both practices and deities, the cult itself promotes ritual sacrifice to the gods as acts of thanks and goodwill, as well as wholeness of body and individual strength of arms.

Me, the simple codemonkey, for making this mod and all the content within

Walakrios, who's likeness has been shamelessly stolen and imported into this mod

Empermanual, whose art Walakrios got his likeness from

Sheogorath, who started the domino-effect that led to this mod's creation

BritAnon, for being a generally chill dude and longtime member of our community

Mr. Hunter, whose Romano-Viking character Hektorios is contained within this mod

Comitatensis Tremor, who's funding has perpetuated and encouraged the Vieti oppression of various barbarian peoples across the eastern hemisphere for centuries

Harshey (who had a positive opinion of the original mod for some reason)

Dino Stan (whose ck2 videos reminded me why I play this game)

The oppressed Romano-Vieti peoples

My Drunk Uncle Ruprecht, (who explained to me that the Roman Empire still exists in Vietnam, right before he put out an entire pack of lit cigarettes on my right thigh)

This mod will appeal to a very specific type of ck2 gamer. Specifically one that suffers from a mild case of serious brain damage.

Unfortunately this mod does require DLC.

I recommend playing with this mod on a fresh save.

Every time someone likes this mod, a small tribe of Vieti nationalists in Northern Cambodia is airdropped a crate containing olive oil and ak47s.

Gave it a quick test to see if it works with the mod you mentioned, and from a first glance of it, it does. Glad you like the look of this thing. I hope its content is satisfactory! I'll see about giving it another update once my tabletop group finally finishes our current campaign. :absolutelybarbaric::sword_f: Happy conquering, true heir of Rome!

Ah, I was so exhausted yesterday I neglected to mention. The Compatibility mod for the Community Converter has been released and linked in the description. It's a bit unpolished and barebones right now, but I'll be giving it a couple updates in the near future to hopefully smoothen things out a bit. :lunar2019piginablanket:

Will be releasing an update in a couple days, as well as a mod/ 'guide' for EU4 that should help when converting save-games as Indo-Rome or Orientis. Using the superior community-made converter, naturally. Apologies for the delay, my friends! You'll have your EU4-Indo-Rome soon! :hazmat:
