Music Playlist Loader

Description
A playlist loader inspired by VultureX's Music Player Extension and CHRY's removed Unity Record Player. This tool serves as a quick way to load a collection of links into the built-in Music Player. Formatting is simply:
Title URL Title URL Title URL
and so on

Features include:
  • Replace Playlist - Replaces the entire playlist, looping seamlessly after the current track
  • Add to Playlist - Appends tracks to the Music Player without replacing anything
  • Create Playlist Disc - Writes the text box to a loadable playlist disc
  • Save Current Playlist as Disc - Saves the songs already loaded in the Music Player as a disc
  • Shuffle Links - Shuffles the links in the Playlist Loader's input box
  • Load From Disc - Loads the text from the currently selected playlist disc
  • Promoted Mode - Locks out the Playlist Loader from players who are not promoted

Playlist Discs can be saved as their own separate objects, and you just plop them into the Playlist Loader itself to load later

This 100% should be a feature in vanilla, great work!

Ok. It was my bad. I had not noticed the "music" button in the top bar, and tought "Built-in Music Player" referred to the blue "MP3 Player" object one can bring on the table from the Tools section of the Objects menu.
Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for your help!

Did you check the playlist section of the built-in MP3 player? Basically, I didn't put in autoplay or changing the current clip on loading the playlist so, if a track is currently playing, it'll just seamlessly transition to the loaded songs without skipping the current one.

The only issue is that, if there wasn't already a track previously loaded/playing, then it'll still be in a state where nothing is considered playing, so it'll still say "Unknown Track" and the skip buttons won't load the next song. In that case, just click "Playlist" at the top-left of the built-in MP3 player to get the list of loaded songs and press play on one there.

I checked the built-in mp3 player for changes, but none of the built-in genres of music seem to have been altered in any way.

Maybe a dumb question, but after writing a 2 music playlist in the text box, and clicking "Replace Music Playlist", am I supposed to hear it play? Are there additional steps to perform? Nothing happens for me, not even errors.

Yeah sorry, brother, that still gives me the same Unsupported File Format error.
Oh well, thanks anyways.

It cannot, but it's because it uses with the game's built-in music player, which only supports direct audio file playback (i.e. has to be a URL to a .mp3 or .ogg or .wav file). If you wanted to use music from Youtube, you'd have to download it as one of those formats and then upload it somewhere.

Thankfully, you can actually upload files to your Steam Cloud in-game as a way to host your music. At the top row in-game, click Modding > Cloud Manager > Upload Local File (the folder icon). Once it uploads, it'll have a URL that you can then put into the playlist loader.

How do you get this mod to work if the youtube URLs you input come back with an "Unsupported File Format" error?
