Fix Status Bars remaining after irregular death

Description
Fixes an edge case where characters dying during combat but outside of clashes (e.g. with Footfalls or self-damage cards) leave behind their status bar.

Credit to Hat for the latest revision.

This fix has a slight issue where characters that are going to die during the engagement have their status bar disappear before the start of the engagement, heavily foreshadowing their imminent demise. If you'd like, I could send you an alternate version of the fix code that does not exhibit such behaviour.
