Édouard Carpentier

The acrobatic Édouard Carpentier, known as "The Flying Frenchman" is a former World Champion in the NWA and AWA.

Carpentier dazzled fans with moves and flips off the top rope throughout a career that started in the 50's and spanned over three decades.

In 1956, Carpentier won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship off of Lou Thesz, but the outcome was disputed by multiple promoters within the organization. The title was split and Carpentier became known as the first titleholder in the Omaha lineage of the NWA title, which would later be unified with the AWA World Heavyweight Championship.
